When it comes to science and religion, it is not unreasonable, if we only have a childlike fundamental grasp of the subject to ask lots of "Why" questions to get a better understanding. 

When I consider the possibility of evolution occurring as a series of random, un-coordinated chance happenings, I have a lot of "why" questions. Some are perhaps trivial and some more fundamental. If I am given many answers and keep asking, perhaps a scientist or evolutionist might in exasperation say "Because it just is!", but is that a valid starting argument? A lot of evolutionary arguments sound exactly like that! So to my questions:

What evolutionary advantage is there if I consider a mountain, a sunset or a flower beautiful?

Q: Why do we find baby animals cute?

Baby herbivores like lambs are for eating and baby wolves or bears should presumably be killed on sight as they may be threats to the food chain. More fundamentally:

Q: Why do animals reproduce?

If there is no greater plan or design, then why does it matter if a species reproduces or just dies out? A lion, for instance will sometimes kill their own young, because it sees them as competition, so why have them in the first place? Some creatures like the male preying mantis get eaten by their mate following copulation, so what purpose does their sacrifice have to the individual? If the answer might be related to "for the greater good", how can any individual insect have a concept of what that is?

Q: Likewise, why do animals have a survival instinct?

Even the smallest bug will try to evade capture or getting squashed, but why? If there is no purpose or plan, what does it matter if that bug gets killed or not? Humans will think of their loved ones as being a reason to keep on living, or we will think of all those things we have always wanted to do, but haven't yet had the chance. What motivates the bug to evade destruction? 

Sometimes it is useful to ask really simple, childlike questions. Jesus encouraged it.

 In Mark 10, Jesus is recorded as saying "14 But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, "Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 "Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all." There is a very simple answer to these questions - that is if we can accept the Bible as a source of Truth. 

Genesis 1 22 God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth." Genesis 9 1 And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. 7 "As for you, be fruitful and multiply; Populate the earth abundantly and multiply in it." 

The Bible tells us that God has a plan and purpose for the World, meaning there is a point to everything. God cares about the state of the world and the creatures on it. 

Luke 12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. 

So what is the purpose of all this? Isaiah 45:18 says For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens (He is the God who formed the earth and made it, He established it and did not create it a waste place, but formed it to be inhabited), "I am the LORD, and there is none else". 

“The heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1). 

So God created all things to give him pleasure and to proclaim his glory.He created the world to be inhabited. God's ways are far above our own and we might therefore not be able to understand everything perfectly, but it is good that we have a simple explanation as to why we are here and it is not just as a result of random chance!
